The conditions for a successful bee-keeping are discussed: strong and healthy bees, good pastures with nectarous plants near the bee-garden, favourable weather during honey harvest, properly and timely done work of keeping the bee-garden in order. Several bee diseases are explained, the importance of the veterinary service is emphasized. The work of erecting and cleaning the hives is described.
