Three experiment were carried out. In the first one, queens were introduced into four groups of workers I, II and III - formed of workers on the 1st, 5th and 10th day after their inoculation with N. apis spores, and a control group. There were 10 cages containing one virgin queen, and 10 workers from each the groups. After 7 days the inoculated workers attending queens were replaced with healthy ones. After 21 days queens were examined for the presence of N. apis spores. The second experiment determined how long after ingestion of inoculated food N. apis spores can be found in the worker's crop. The workers were examined 10 minutes and 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 20, 22 and 24 hours after ingestion. In the third experiment, young queens were inoculated with a dose of 100, 500, 1000 or 2000 N. apis spores. Every five days feces were collected from the queens. The queen bees were kept with workers in cages until the end of their lives and after that they were examined for the presence of N. apis spores.
