Zephyranthes grandiflora were kept in the cold storage at 1 degrees centigrade, 5 degreess centigrade, 10 degrees centigrade and in room temperature (28-32 degreess centigrade) for 4 to 13 weeks. The bulbs kept in room temperature provided the earliest, regular flowering and longest flower stalks. Storing the bulbs at 5 degreess centigrade or 10 degreess centigrade had no effect on the number of flowers, time of flowering and flower stalks. Bulbs stored at 1 degrees centigrade provided faster rate of flowering but only few flowers and shorter flower stalks. Keeping bulbs in cold storage longer than 10 weeks at 1 degrees centigrade, 5 and 10 degreess centigrades showed chilling injury symptoms.
