Plant height and number of fruits increased as level of N was increased up to 120 kilos. This N level produced 28.3 fruits per plant while the control had 7.6. Nitrogen uptake was maximum at 120 kg N level. The younger leaves had the highest N content that ranged from .90 to 2.08%, older leaves had .87 to 2.01%; and stem had .49 to .97%.
