In order to compare yield of different strawberry cultivars in Mazanderan, one-year-old runners of seven strawberry varieties were dug from the ground field of the College of Agriculture, Karaj, in late autumn 1982, and the same time planted in the experimental ground of Mazanderan Univ. in Gorgan. The first year's yield was picked (unwanted) before taking any date, therefore no results are available for 1983. In this experiment the results of the second year (1984) are concerned. The yield of different varieties, i.e. mean fresh fruit weight of each plant and each fruit, also number of good ripe and damaged fruit were recorded (Litesia, Sengadabita, Gorella, Atabaki, Missionary, Kastaskill and Armore). The heaviest yield per plant was produced by Missionary and Litesia varieties with 52.2 and 51.5 g respectively, and Armore, Kastskill c.v. with 19.5 g and 17.8 g had the best fruit production. The highest number of ripe fruit per plant was found in Litesia with 14, Missionary and Gorella cultivars, with 12 each respectively. In the same manner Kastskill and Armore c.v. had the lowest number with 5 and 6 fruits per plant. The lowest number of decayed and useless fruits was observed in Armore cultivar with only one fruit per plant when Atabaki cultivar had 4 fruits. Mean fresh weight per fruit of Missionary cultivar with 5.14 g was the heaviest where the armore cultivar with 3.12 g showed the lowest among the others.
