Contribucion al estudio citotaxonomico del genero Lavatera (Malvaceae) en Espana.

In this paper 9 taxa of genus Lavatera present in Spain are studied. (From each one the chromosomic number, the apparent size of chromosomes, the karyotypic asymmetry and the idiogrammatic formula are given). The chromosome characters as well as the morphologic peculiarities of L. trimestris allowe to separate this taxon from Lavatera as genus Stegia. Two new combinations are proposed: Stegia trimestris (L.) Luque and Devesa and Stegia trimestris var. brachypoda (Perez Lara) Luque and Devesa.
