In the past few years, Indonesia has recognized the principles of sustainable development in the field water resources development. The principles simplify that the development and management policies must not emphasize on water use development but on water resources development and management. Reservoir storage reallocation and reevaluation of reservoir operating policies of existing reservoir are considered to be the two main problems to be addressed associated with the principles of sustainable development. Appropriate techniques for solving these problems are necessary. This paper presented an attempt in developing a sound methodology for reevaluation of an existing reservoir. Simulation approach based on the four probability criteria has been taken as a case study in the application of the proposed methodology. Analysis of the storage capacity indicated that the present size of the reservoir allows for additional multipurpose use of the reservoir that can provide industrial water supply and hydropower generation in addition to the current use of reservoir storage for irrigation water supply.
