For the investigation were included lungs of clinically sound, just slaughtered fattening swines (196). In 75 swines or 38.77% the pneumonic focuses of infection was located in apical and cardial lobuses of the lungs. 31 samples of characteristically changed lung tissues of apical and cardial lobuses had been chosen. The following was found in these samples: in 14 samples were mycoplasmas (45.17%) (6 samples in pure culture and 8 together with bacterias); in 9 samples were isolated only bacterias (5 different species); 8 samples were sterile. The isolated mycoplasmas were determined as Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (21.6%), M. hyorhinis (24.3%) and Acholeplasma granularum (2.7%). Two of the 5 bacterial species were always in association with mycoplasmas (Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus sp.). These investigations proved the supposition of the widespread enzootic swine pneumonia in SR Bosnia and Herzegovina (Yugoslavia).
