Gewaechshaus- und Freilandtomaten: sensorische Unterschiede.
1997
Gysi C. | Allmen F. von | Duerr P.
To evaluate sensorical differences in taste, tomato plants were cultivated on thin-layer and soil in the field next to the greenhouse. As in previous trials, a panel of experienced tasters was unable to distinguish between tomatoes grown in the different systems, with two exceptions: (1) in the greenhouse trials tomatoes grown on thin layer were preferred to tomatoes grown in soil; (2) in thin-layer comparisons field-grown tomatoes were preferred to greenhouse tomatoes with a high dry matter content. Shelf life of greenhouse tomatoes is significantly longer than for field-grown tomatoes.
