Bodenschutz auf Niedermoorboeden Nordostdeutschlands.

The protection of soils means a protection of their functions as a source of production, a part of the ecological system and an important regulation system for nutrients and water. This protection has to lead stable conditions with a maximum of soil functions. It also must be possible to get back a further level of the soil functions at places where they have gone down. As an example and a present problem the author has a look at the northern-east German flat peatlands. The functions of soils of this peatlands have changed extremly and negative. The protection of the flat peatlands of northern-east Germany demands a complex view on the situation and a complex planning of using and protection of soil, fitted in a stable economic concept. It must be more then a protection of the biotic nature - the combination of a biotic and biotic factors in the planning of protection aims is necessary to get the right political decisions.
