Paper presents an application of the varience analysis for ecological and physiological investigations of plant relations in phytocenoses. The proposed scheme gives the possibility to determine the quantitative contribution (2) of both the abiotic factors and the cenotic ones. The role of nitrogenous fertilizers and the effect of the competition between the species in the protein content in leaves are demonstrated in double grass mixtures of Medicago sativa L. and Phleum pratense L. Our interpretation of variance method in reference to phytocenology is shown to define the main trends in physiological investigations in this field.
