Treatment with chlorocholinechloride (CCC) in phase of 5-6 true leaves 2 weeks before chilling essentially changed both the amount of abscisic acid (AA), gibberellic acid (GA) and flavonoids, and their distribution in plant parts of both alfalfa varieties studied: frost resistant variety Vega and nonresistant to low temperatures variety Slavyanskaja local. Under the action of CCC, some qualities of Slavyanskaja local variety approached those of control plants of resistant Vega variety, which provided their higher frost resistance.
