The effect of different age of the 1st calving on milk efficiency of first-calvers was studied. The basic data for 5 lactations were obtained from the milk records. With the age of the 1st calving the milk efficiency in the 1st lactation increased. It was the lowest in cows calved in the age of 29 months and it did not achieve the efficiency level of cows calved in the age of 24 months. Each month the increase of milk efficiency of the first-calvers in the 1st lactation represented 55 kg of milk on the average (up to the age 27 months). Cows calved in the age of 24 months had the highest lifetime efficiency (total as well as per head and day), while total lifetime and daily efficiency decreased by the later age of getting in. Cows calved in the age of 26 months gave the highest milk yield (on the average per 1 lactation). Cows calved later produced less milk. The avg number of lactations was the highest in cows calved in the age of 24 months. The avg number of lactation decreased with the increasing age of the 1st calving.
