In the course of the DFG research program "Integrated systems for plant production" the carabid- and staphylinid fauna of different cultural fields (meadow, crop rotation of winter wheat, sugar beet, winter wheat-/summer barley combination, winter wheat monoculture) was investigated. Observations were made from the middle of June 1983 until the middle of June 1985. In spite of the very different macroclimatics of the years 1983 and 1984, 1985: no specials, there are typical distribution structures for several species. Distribution characteristics at the edge of the field and distribution characteristics in the middle of the field. Other species change their activity regions.
