ITALIANO: Gli Autori, dopo aver descritto una nuova stazione di Quercus frainetto Ten. nel Salento (Puglia), formulano alcune ipotesi peliminari sul significato fitogeogafico della specie nella regione. Il farnetto salentino viene considerato spontaneo, adattato da tempo alle condizioni ambientali salentine e, proabilmente, testimonianza di una penetrazione balcanica terziaria attraverso l'Egeide meridionale.

Moreover, some hypothesis on the origin of this Q. frainetto stand are carried out. The Hungarian oak presence in Salentum could represent a relict of tertiary Balkan flora.
