Hybridization of autotetraploid wheat Triticum boeoticum 2n=4x=28 with rye 2n=14 and triticale 2n=28 was conducted. Hybrid caryopses set and germinability in these combinations is rather high: 65,5 and 45,2% - the set, 45,2% and 33,3% germinability correspondingly. However survival is low - to the end of vegetation single plants remain. Meiosis in F1 T. boeoticum 2n=28 x Secale cereale 2n=14 (AAR) hybrids and T. boeoticum 2n=28 x triticale 2n=28 (AA A/B) was studied, average number of bivalents (per one meiocyte) is equal to 6,3 and 6,5 correspondingly. The number of closed bivalents in the former is larger than the latter and amounts to 3,03% and 0.81% correspondingly, testifying to large chromosome homology, entering in conjugation in AAR hybrids as compared to that in AA A/BR hybrids. In the combination with AA A/B-genomes 16,7% of meiocytes contain multivalents (tri-, tetra-, hexavalents), this proves the possible participation in the conjugation of A-genome of T. aestivum from the mixed A/B-genome of the tetraploid triticale Prag 8.
