Many-year studies were summarized and as the result the varieties Leningradskaya Pozdnyaya, Vola, Macherauchs Marieva were singled out as initial material for breeding for high content in the berries of ascorbic acid, dry matter and sugars. Based on the fragments of parentage schemes in the varieties selected Konig Albert von Sachen, Howard 17, Sharpless were defined, which to the author's mind had donor influence on improved storage of the above chemical substances in berries.
