English. The Aspergillus spp. content in various samples and the status of avian aspergillosis in South Kalimantan was studied. Samples were collected from the field consisting of village chickens (129), Alabio ducklings (192), duck's eggs (701), feed (59), rice bran (17), and litter (2). Samples were then cultured onto Sabouraud's glucose agar medium containing antibacterial antibiotics (penicilin-streptomycin) and incubated at 25 deg. C and 37 deg. C. The growth of mould colonies, especially Aspergillus spp., was observed for 10-14 days. The result showed that Aspergillus fumigatus, A. flavus, A. niger, and a number of Aspergillus spp. yet to be identified were isolated from most of the samples. Meanwhile, aspergillosis caused especially by A. fumigatus, A. flavus, and A. niger, were positively detected in chickens and ducklings, and in duck's eggs, although their occurrence the latter were insignificant.
