Protein content in kernel and its particles and kernel protein fraction has been investigated in the following corn hybrids: ZP-448, ZPSC-46A, ZPSC-58C, ZPSC-6, ZPSC-71C, ZPSC-4 and ZPSC-74 02 (opaque). The obtained results indicate the following: 1. Kernel of standard hybrids is moderately rich in proteins, while kernel of opaque is poor in protein content. 2. Most proteins are contained in the germ and least in the pericarp. 3. 4/5 of total protein content is stored in the endosperm, 1/5 in the germ and 3-4% in the pericarp. 4. Kernel of standard hybrids contains the largest amount of zein and slightly less gluteline, while amounts of albumin and globulin in particular are insignificant. 5. Kernel of hybrid opaque -2 has the smallest amount of zein and globulin and the largest amount of glutelin. 6. According to protein value indicators hybrid opaque2 has 6 times better quality than the standard hybrids of which ZPSC-58C is the best and ZPSC-71C is the worst.
