The tests performed proved that knives with smooth edges as well as knives with moulded edges could be used in cutting passive devices, being a part of trailers equipment. However the use of smooth-edge knives provided the lowest power consumption. The difference in energy consumption among the machines equipped with knives of different edges was significant.
