During four consecutive years hay samples from five localities of different altitude (250-1000 m above sea level) from the region of Pozega (Yugoslavia) were examined for their microelements content. Two samples were taken from two different farms at each locality totalling 40 samples to be examined. During the four years the content of iron ranged from 110.3 - 354.50 (average: 202.72 mg/kg); copper 7.70 - 15.89 (average: 12.22 mg/kg); manganese 58.43 - 184.25 (average: 102.08 mg/kg); and zinc 19.50 - 88.24 (average: 35.37 mg/kg). In comparison with data reported in literature it may be concluded that iron content falls within the normal range, while copper, manganese and zinc are above the upper limit of average values.
