The paper develops some aspects of the residual effect of atrazine and other triazines, the relationship with the rate applied and the intensity of herbicides decomposing process, in the soil. Data regarding the effect of aeration, moisture and temperature on triazines degradation are also shown here; the intensity of this process can be calculated with the help of some equations experimentally established. The triazine residues rested on the experimental field are determined by the initial rate applied, by reaction kinetics and by leaching. The effect on the succeeding crop also depends on the specific effect of each triazine; atrazine has a stronger effect under the specific conditions of Romania, as compared with simazine.
