Induced fish breeding in Southeast Asia. Report of a workshop held in Singapore, 25-28 Nov 1980.

Davy F.B. | Chouinard A.
The demand for fish seed from which to raise cultivated fish species is growing faster than present sources can satisfy. Given the importance of fish seed supply, a group of fisheries biologists from 12 countries met with representatives of FAO and IDRC for a workshop in November 1980 in Singapore. The participants reported on practices in their countries and discussed gonadal maturation, induced spawning, gamete preservation, and larval rearing. This publication summarizes the state of the art in induced breeding techniques in Asia. It also reports on the working group's discussions and recommends certain research priorities for the region.
