Re-entry in greenhouses after pesticide application is an area of increased interest. The regulatory authorities need background informations for setting re-entry intervals for pesticides used under different conditions. The danish EPA has financed a project investigating the fate of pesticides in greenhouses and biological effects on greenhouse workers. The planned activities on the first part is described here, the second part is described by A. Abell at the present conference. It is planned to measure the decay and disappearance of different pesticides, applications, types of greenhouses, cultures, inactive media and exposure of workers. The project is aiming at creating a model for evaluating the fate of pesticides in greenhouses. Dislodgeable residues on plants and inactive media and assesment of actual exposure of workers, dermal and respiratory, are keywords in the project.
