The time of cutting exerts an influence on the development of phenophases. With vine cut late in autumn and winter, the vegetation begins earlier and the grape ripening is earlier by 3-7 days, the bud fertility and the cluster weight are greater and the percentage of the developed shoots is higher than with vine cut early in spring. Total yield is the highest with vine cut in winter and the lowest with vine cut in spring. The sugar content is the highest with vine cut in autumn and the lowest with vine cut in spring. Total acids are the highest in the case of spring cutting and the lowest in the case of autumn cutting.
