Investigation carried out on soil samples taken from plots of long-term experiments of Akkvak (Uzbekistan) manifested a higher selectivity of the typical serozem to potassium than to ammonium. Long-term application of fertilizers alongside with intensive soil saturation with potassium does not change the priority of potassium sorption. Due to higher soil selectivity to potassium the application of potassic fertilizers contributes to higher mobility (replacement or decrease of sorption capacity) of ammonium ions.
