Some aspects of the Australian goatmeat industry.
1985
Greenwood P.L.
Indications are that export markets for goat meat will continue to demand the product but high prices are likely to affect consumption levels in some markets. Price increases have reduced exports to the South East Asian market with most shipments now entering the Carribean. There is a need for coordination and quality of supplies, particularly the improvement of the domestic product. The necessary infrastructure, i.e. marketing channels and regulations, needs further development. Trade descriptions based on objective measurements currently being developed will remove some looseness in specification and contracts.
