Cows feeding after the end of the grazing period is discussed. The winter feed ration content required for cows' good health and high productivity is analysed. The importance of protein in the ration is explained, its content in different grasses and rootcrops is considered. The mean digestible protein content per feed unit in grams is shown in a table.
