In the paper are presented results which show the genetic potential of grain yield, bread-making quality and adaptability of wheat cultivars grown in different periods in Yugoslavia. In order to elucidate genetic potential, the maximum value of grain yield and bread-making quality parameters for each cultivar have been choose from microtrials data. Stability of the cultivars have been calculated from data based on the three years and five locations. The results show that new wheat cultivars have performed significantly better than older cultivars.
