Contribution of some factors to the development of crop production in the CSFR.

Pie charts representing the changes in the contribution of some factors to the development of crop production in average terms in the CSFR in the last decades have been designed on the basis of the results of long-range polyfactorial field trials, and using the results of the primary production. The contribution of natural soil capability and weather conditions to the yield increase was 60 % in total around the year 1948, in 1990 it was only about 20 %. The share by man controllable factors was only about 40 % in 1948 while in 1990 this total share made 80 %. The development of agricultural chemization since the early sixties has contributed to increases in the crop production output in the seventies in form of the increase in the share of the fertilizing factor up to 30 % and in the plant protection factor, this increase made 15 %. The varieties of the factors, fertilizing cultural practices and plant protection influences to the greatest extent the yield increases at present (25 %, 20 %, 20 % and 15 %, respectively).
