Nonspecific esterases in silkworm fat body were investigated by means of electrophoresis using polyacrylamide and starch gels. Studies were made on the esterase spectra of sixteen races and eight inter-race hybrids during ontogenesis. The expression of ten loci was observed. The polymorphism of two loci was assumed. There was a tendency for gene expression dynamics during ontogenesis.
