The effects of moxidectin against natural infestations of the cattle tick (Boophilus microplus). [Short contribution].

Sibson G.J.
The efficacy of an injectable and pour-on formulation of moxidectin was investigated under field conditions on cattle in north Queensland and compared with that of the routine control programme for ticks. The results indicated that moxidectin administered by subcutaneous injection at the recommended dose of 0.2 mg per kg body weight should provide effective control when applied at 4-week intervals. Moxidectin pour-on applied along the back at the recommended rate of 0.5 mg per kg body weight would be better suited to a 3-week programme.
