Noxious weed research in the Northern Territory. [Working paper].
1984
Miller I.L.
While the overall proportion of time spent by staff of the Department of Primary Production on weeds research is relatively low, a high proportion of funds are spent on research. This is because of contribution of funds to other organisations in cooperative research programmes. Many of the serious noxious weeds are covered by biological control programmes, and their continued funding is necessary. There is a need for research on the biology, ecology and distribution of noxious weeds, development of local herbicide recommendations, and research into the effect of soil and climatic factors on herbicide efficacy. The maintenance and expansion of cooperative research programmes is strongly supported.
