The coccid Sphaerolecanium prunastri causes many damages in almond, plum and cherry orchards in Magnesia prefecture. It has one generation per year. The nymph of first instar lasts from June till the end of September, the nymph of second instar from October till the end of February when overwinters, from March till June all the development is taking place as well as the insects reproduction. They have been found the following parasites: Coccophagus semicircularis (Foerster), Coccophagus sp. lacanii group, Metaphycus sp. aff dispar (Mercet), Discodes coccophagus (Ratzeburg), Microterys hortulanus (Erdos), Cerapterocerus mirabilis (Westwood), Marietta picta (Andre), Pachyneuron sp. and Cybocephalus fodori (Endr. Y.) (predator).
