The article deals with the demands of several crops (vegetable crops, grain crops, papilionaceous plants, mixed corn) for the appropriate conditions for their growth and development. Different agrotechnical (soil fertilization, soil treatment, weed and pest control) and land improvement measures are mentioned. The suitability of different soils (clay soils, sandy soils, podzols, alluvial soils, peat soils) for the growing of several crops is analysed.
