In Indonesia, asparagus is grown mostly in light soil such as Andosol (Andept soil) which is very porous. To improve the physical properties of this type of soil for asparagus, an experiment on dosage of stable manure was conducted at Experimental Farm of Lembang Horticultural Research Institute. A Randomized Complete Block Design with four replicates and five treatment's was conducted. The treatments were 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100 t/ha of stable manure. The result showed that stable manure significantly increased the total number and the total weight of spears. The optimum dosage for maximum number of spears was 60 t/ha. While the weight of spears/ha still increased with the increase of dosage of stable manure. The effect of stable manure on the number and the weight of spears/plant was significant only at the first and second periods of harvest. There was no significant differences in the number of spears/plant due to the application of stable manure.
