The new herbicide combination is consisting of Stomp SC(R) (pendimethalin) and Banvel 4S(R1) (dicamba). Pendimethalin is working primary as a soil herbicide. The hormone like dicamba has mainly a leaf activity. The different mode of action of both compounds provide a good complementary efficacy under changing weather and field conditions. It is possible to use the tank mixture Stomp SC(R) + Banvel 4S(R1) as a splitting post emergence application or a single post emergence application. In a large number of trials the first application of Stomp SC(R) + Banvel 4S(R1) in the splitting system provided already a very acceptable weed control in corn. The combination of Stomp SC(R) and Banvel 4S(R1) is effective against a couple of important corn weeds like Chenopodium ssp., Polygonum spp. and Solanum ssp. Additionally, less important weeds like Galium aparine, Lamium ssp., Stellaria media and Viola arvensis are controlled very well by this combination. If Convolvulus arvensis has some leaves at time of application, Stomp SC(R) + Banvel 4S(R1) provided a good to complete efficacy. The tank mixture is effective regarding grass control against Apera spica venti and Poa annua. Both compounds have a good efficacy against triazine resistent weed species like Chenopodium album, Solanum nigrum and Atriplex patula.
