Surviving time of different microorganisms and parasites in liquid manure has been summarized on plants irrigated with liquid manure, as well as on sandy soil and leaf mould. Air polluting and contaminating effect of liquid manure has also been demonstrated together with the circulation of its heavy metal content, as well as its role played in the nitrate pollution of soil and water. The effect of in vitro nitrate reduction on E. coli counts has been summarized.
