Development of simplified key to soil series identification as tool in the delivery of technology to individual farm

A simplified key to soil series identification was developed using mobile or cellular phone technology in order to provide this tool to individual farm. Using the reference guidebooks that were developed through an earlier project on 'Simplification of the Philippine Soil Series Identification for Rice and Corn Cultivation', the project was able to convert the manual use of the guidebooks into an interactive and mobile tool that resulted into a more convenient and faster identification of the 16 soil series of Isabela Province [Philippines]. The mobile tool that was developed also has the potential of being integrated into a bigger network of cellular phone infrastructure.
