The effect of gamma irradiation (doses between 1-10 kGy) on the level of surviving spores of Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus cereus present in dried herbs was investigated on model systems. The dose of 10 kGy was sufficient to reduce the number of spores Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus cereus about 4 to 5 log cycles. The counts of spore-forming aerobes Bacillus in herbs after irradiation was diminished to the level recommended by the Polish Pharmacopeia V. For the description of survival curves of Bacillus spores in an aqueous suspension and in herbal raw material after irradiation the dispersive kinetics was applied
