If milk is contaminating during or after milking, there is no way to return to its primary quality and purity. In our investigations, the average bacteria account was at farm 1 around 800,000/ml, and at farm 2 around 900,000/ml milk. The average somatic cell account was 300,000/ml at farm 1, and 270,000/ml at farm 2. Therefore the proper practice for preparing the udder before, during and after milking, as well as with proper selection of bulls and cows, takes place for reducing the bacteria and somatic cell account in cows milk. Disinfection of the udder and milking equipment is very important as well.
