Different type of wrapping materials are used for dried food storage, but they are very often damaged in market due to the products manipulation. It allows entry of stored product pests from other groceries into the dried fruits. The subject of this study was to investigate the possibility of dried fruit beetle, Carpophilus hemipterus L., entering into packages with dry fruits. The wrapping materials most commonly used for packing of dried fruit (cellophane, paper, aluminum foil and plastic) were examined. The results showed that dried fruit beetle enters through all tested materials if they are damaged, while paper packaging can bite through. Dried apricots, then raisins and prunes were most attractive dried fruits. The most larvae and adults drilled through the damaged paper packaging. The larvae entered through damaged aluminum foil very good, and the less through damaged plastic and cellophane. Adults passed well through damaged plastic and less through damaged cellophane and aluminium foil.
