Research activities has been undertaken at the experimental field of Agriculture faculty, in Sremski Karlovci (Serbia), between year 1991 and 1995. (the first phase of the individual clonal selection of župljanka cultivar) and between year 1999 and 2001 (2. phase) at karlovački training system. During the first clonal selection phase, 101 mother vinestock from župljanka vineyard have been selected and examined, out of which 1 stock represented population of the same cultivar. Vinestock SK-32 stood out as the record high grape yield, reaching 9.7 kg/vine, while the highest must sugar content (21.7%) was recorded at mother vinestock SK-30 and SK-63. Average cluster weight, total must acid content and resistance on the Botrytis (gray mold) Rot were satisfying at most mother vinestocks. Only 15 župljanka clones and population of the same cultivar used as a standard were from phase one transferred onto the second phase of research. This phase of research exposed župljanka clone SK-76 with the record high grape yield reaching 8.1 kg/vine. Župljanka clone SK-73 stood out as the one with highest must sugar content of 21.8% and very high grape yield recording 7.1 kg/vine. Wines produced out of selected fifteen clones and župljanka population were assessed by wine testing commission, physical and chemical analyses were undertaken and these processes contributed in successful selection of the clones with higher tartaric than malic acid contents from phase two. According to the previous data, the following four clones has been selected: SK-30, SK-34, SK-37 and SK-60. Wine clone SK-60 during the study showed the best quality and so is the best rating.
