This paper presents the experimental research results of baled soy straw combustion on 1,5 MW semi-industrial plant that works on the cigarette combustion principle. The researches were conducted to determine the necessary input parameters for the development of an appropriate combustion process mathematical model of the proposed cigarette combustion method. Experiments have measured the input data such as the fuel mass flows, combustion air, temperatures and flue gas composition at the outlet section of the calculated domain. Beside measurement input data that are important for the combustion process, the determination of temperature profiles in the central plane of soy straw has been conducted. Presented experimental results are significant not only for the cigarette combustion process mathematical modelling, but for a comprehensive analysis and understanding of transport processes that take place during the new and still not sufficiently researched combustion principle.
