Long-term Strategy of the Republic of Serbia in the field of environmental protection, which means improving the quality of life by providing the desired environmental conditions and protection of the environment is based on sustainable environmental management. Key steps include strengthening and development of new measures to establish an integrated waste management system, further integration of environmental policies into other sectoral policies, the acceptance of greater individual responsibility for the environment and active public participation in decision making. In the large amount of waste that comes from industry, trade, households, health care, agriculture and other sources there is waste that is because of its physical, chemical and biological properties classified as hazardous waste.
