This paper present result of physic-chemical testing of water quality in Barje reservoir that was conducted at the laboratory of the Institute for Public Health Leskovac, in 2009. These results were compared with the test results obtained after formation and loading of reservoir, in 1996, which also represent initial – zero condition of quality of Barje reservoir. However, according to quantity of water, its natural and technological properties, this source is of general public interest and is classified as the first-rank source. Results of the latest tests and increase in concentration of most of important quality parameters provide early indications of the process of eutrophication. Increased maximal pH value in recent tests imposes expected increase of primary production, which also indicates the existence of more expressed eutrophication processes within Barje reservoir.
