With more and more present constructive changes that have been carried out on engines in the world is more intensive development to improve the quality of fuels and lubricants, in order to reduce exhaust emissions of motor vehicles, and thereby protect the environment. Achieving strict environmental regulations, require the manufacturer, with a significant financial investment, fulfilling the norms of production, quality, use and trade of fuel, which are defined by EU Directives. Failure to comply, failure or prolongation of fulfilling these demands will lead many manufacturers in a serious situation of survival in the market, and manufacturers of petroleum products in Serbia have in the absence of their standards must meet the standards that apply in the EU. In this context, the development of automobile industry and installation of equipment for processing exhaust gases have significantly influenced the development of the quality of motor gasoline and diesel fuel, in order to meet requirements of environmental protection. These requirements are related to the reduction of sulfur, diesel fuel and motor gasoline, as well as the reduction of other harmful substances that go into the atmosphere (CO2, NOx, SO2, particles etc.).
