Biodiesel has been gaining increasing importance as an attractive fuel due to the fact that the increasing exhaustion of fossil fuel resources. Biodiesel is the chemical composition monoalkil esters of long chain fatty acids derived from vegetable oils and animal fats. On the transesterification products, while the oil or fat react with monohydric alcohol in the presence of catalysts. The process of transesterification affect regime of reaction conditions, the molar ratio alcohol / oil, alcohol type, the type and amount of catalyst, the reaction time, temperature and purity of the reactants. This paper describes the various methods of preparation and conversion of biodiesel from different oils and using different catalysts. Technical tools and processes for the analysis of transesterification of the TLC, GC, HPLC, GPC, 1H NMR and NIR. These methods are discussed in this paper. have also been summarized. Besides this, these are the features and technical characteristics of biodiesel as a fuel. Are given and standards in different countries, different relations of biodiesel and fossil diesel.
