Constantly increasing of tractor speed raises the question of their efficient stopping process improvement. Permanent development and progress in areas of comfort, safety and energy efficiency in agricultural machines led to creation of systems such as magnetorheological brakes. Magnetorheological brakes are type of braking systems which utilize magnetorheological fluid as a medium in brake torque transfer. These systems have possibility of precisely handling the braking force electrically, do not require special adjustments neither periodical maintenance. Most present day magnetorheological solutions, both theoretical and practical, utilize magnetic field influence only in the area inside the coil, which provides only partial efficiency. A new magnetorheological fluid brake construction is proposed in this paper, with more efficient usage of magnetic field influence on magnetorheological fluid. Theoretical braking torque fundamentals as well as basic construction parameters are presented in this paper.
