The results of investigation of mowers in alfalfa haymaking in agroecological conditions of northern Kosovo and Metohia | Rezultati ispitivanja kosačica pri košenju lucerke u agroekološkim uslovima severnog Kosova i Metohije

In the paper there are presented results of investigations of two types of mowers, with different cutting devices in haymaking of alfalfa in he exploiting conditions of northern Kosovo and Metohia. The aim of investigation was to determine technical and technological indicators and work quality of mowers under the defined working regime. During the investigations, working conditions of mowers has been determined (meteorological conditions, status of a crop and a groundwork), as well as values of technological parameters (height of a cut, losses due to height of a cut, losses due to the crumbling and total losses). The best quality has been achieved at a mower with classical cutting device; with the lowest achieved average total losses of 1.31%, while the highest losses were marked with rotation mower 3.25% of a yield. Achieved results indicate that investigated mowers can be successfully used in alfalfa haymaking in the investigated area, and with good education of an operator, proper set up and exploitation can express full performance in the investigated area.
